WNED - the public broadcasting stations of Western New York and Southern Ontario - originated the concept of the Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival in 2001 as part of our ongoing mission to inspire, entertain, educate and connect with the communities we serve.
A celebration of the guitar in all its forms, the WNED Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival has been a catalyst for uniting the region's cultural organizations and businesses, a platform for providing musical education and a vehicle to create local television productions that showcase our region.
Through the shared vision of its collaborative partners, the WNED Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival has quickly transcended the realm of community event. It has earned recognition on the national level from Guitar One and Guitar Player magazines, "guitar.com", Gibson Guitar and renowned guitarist participants such as Slash, Rik Emmett and Buffalos' own Billy Sheehan.
As the Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival continues to build national momentum, WNED invites you to experience firsthand the magic that naturally comes from bringing the world's most talented guitarists to one city at one time.
WNED-TV, WNED-AM 970 and WNED-FM Classical 94.5 comprise the member- supported Western New York Public Broadcasting Association.
