A free Father's Day celebration!
Iconic blues guitarist and vocalist Robert Cray played a free Father’s Day show that lit the crowd of over 10,000 on fire! The warm and sunny day was made all the hotter by Cray who, fresh off a tour with Eric Clapton, rocked the waterfront – both the folks onshore and the ones sunning on their boats docked all along the Canal. Cray’s soothing, soulful voice, crisp, clean guitar work, and innovative modern blues sound all combined for a performance that was out of this world.
With special guests Tommy and the Two Tones, Rock Guitar Competition host Queen V, and Michelle Malone, this full day and night of music demonstrated what the Guitar Festival is all about – diverse guitar playing from diverse musicians with one common goal – to make music with impact.
Thank you Robert Cray, special guests, Gateway Park and the Canal Concert Series for a Father’s Day to remember!
